Ajimobi tasks FG to revisit agreement with ASUU
Oyo
State Governor, Abiola Ajimobi, has called on the Federal Government to
revisit the agreement it entered into with the Academic Staff Union of
Universities.
The governor, who spoke in Lagos, on
Friday, also called on striking universities teachers to go back to the
classrooms in the interest of Nigerian youths.
He said, “I appeal to both parties to
find a lasting solution to the four-month old strike as it is important
to put the nation’s interest first and resolve the crisis. There is also
the need for people of proven integrity to venture into politics to
enhance good governance and develop this country.”
“I believe that Nigeria today needs a
benevolent dictatorship; Nigeria today needs to be changed by people who
themselves mean what they say and they practice what they preach,” he
added.
